Finally!
Now the timing is right, in so many countries.
The time I’ve seen in my vision for over a decade with focus on the topic.
* More governments consider supporting paid parental leave, making it easier for employers to promote it.
* Companies wish to exchange best practise cross borders about how to support the combination of work with family.
* The curiosity about how to see impact is huge
* The awareness is growing, and also the urgencyWe need more focus on the wins – the ROI/Return On Investment.
For individuals, their families, for employers, for societies.
Let’s start with what is universal: useful at work, everywhere. And increased attraction, retention, inclusion, genderequality, engagement, wellbeing, health and much more. The KPI:s to track are many.
We need leaders knowing and showing the wins, using and promoting the support offered.
During the years we’ve met companies from many countries. But gathering employers in Asia, Africa, Europe, North and South America – everywhere – together with you at United Nations Global Compact, that was really confirming how family supportive employer efforts are concrete action steps towards the Agenda2030 sustainability goals. Fantastic. So happy an honored to get the chance to arrange inspiration webinars for your members.
Real examples are important, and the most important experts are all employers taking initiatives. Thank you for sharing your examples Annette Praetorius and Katarina Matson about Family Bond at Volvo Cars, Nushin Gassmi about wonderful child care support at Frigoken Ltd. in Kenya and your stories about father programs and leader role models taking paternity leave, Priscila Manfrim Tavares at SpecialDog Company in Brazil. We will follow your development.
Also so happy to welcome you Katarina Matson to our team, supporting more companies forward.
Soon we’ll share a blog article with more about the insights and movement going on in the world now, and the three keys we believe will make more employers walk the talk, with engaged leaders – getting the ROI.
How far have you come? Regardless maturity level: share your example (on this web page) and we are happy to share your story with others, at coming webinars and in the FamSmart Employers network. All are role models, on all levels of maturity.
Join the growing movement of people, companies and societies inspiring each other. We’ll help you take your next steps.
* The Parentsmart employers idea and concept has always been about parenting as one of many examples showing competence development outside work, and why it’s worth supporting the combination of work with family as an employer.
It’s however about inlcuding all caregivers in any family context, our even more inclusive focus forward. “Family” and FamSmart as in all contexts and situations with persons you care for.
